:Tâllis: es una obra de remezcla y collage sonoro creada por Fede Guevara Olguín en 2002 a partir de la manipulación del fonograma “Spem in alium” del compositor Thomas Tallis. El fonograma original fue abordado como material operativo: fragmentado, sampleado y dispuesto en bucles, sobre los cuales se incorporaron texturas, ambientes y capas de ruido, configurando una nueva arquitectura sonora.

En 2005 la pieza fue reconstruida a partir de los bocetos iniciales, consolidando su estructura. Entre 2011 y 2016 se incorporó un nuevo fonograma de la misma obra, esta vez interpretado por The Tallis Scholars, ampliando el campo tímbrico y reconfigurando el tratamiento del material coral.

Publicada en formato digital, Tâllis se inscribe dentro del concepto de “fonogramática”: el fonograma entendido como matriz compositiva y recurso estructural para la generación de obras derivadas. La pieza opera así como ejercicio de relectura y transformación, donde archivo y procedimiento convergen en una nueva configuración sonora.

:Tâllis: is a remix and sonic collage work created by Fede Guevara Olguín in 2002 through the manipulation of the phonogram “Spem in alium” by Thomas Tallis. The original recording was treated as operative material: fragmented, sampled, and looped, forming the structural basis upon which textures, ambiences, and noise layers were introduced, generating a new sonic architecture.

In 2005, the piece was reconstructed from the initial sketches, consolidating its internal structure. Between 2011 and 2016, a new phonogram of the same composition was incorporated — this time performed by The Tallis Scholars — expanding the timbral field and reconfiguring the treatment of the choral material.

Released in digital format, Tâllis operates within the concept of “phonogrammatics”: the phonogram understood as compositional matrix and structural resource for the creation of derivative works. The piece functions as an act of archival transformation, where recorded sound becomes both source and procedure.
